Red State

We talk about Kevin Smith so much on here and many of you might just be getting tired of it. But we can't help it, we love the guy and we must give credit where credit is due. Just watched Red State and loved it. When I watched Kevin Smith: Burn in Hell, Smith mentions how he wanted to make movies like Quentin Tarantino. I can honestly say that he has accomplished just that with Red State. Smith's take on a horror film was awesomely gruesome. To me it felt like a mix of Death Proof and From Dusk Til Dawn (before the vampires) and I think he has achieved exactly what he wanted to do. And my goodness, a horror movie inspired by the scumbags of the Westboro Baptist church is damn near perfect.

Gorey, disturbing, unnecessary violence, fun. We can say the same exact thing about a Tarantino flick.
