I'd like a Heineken. Don't shake it, don't stir it.

I cannot believe that for the first time, James Bond will not be asking (well, at the very least one time in the film) for his Martini; shaken, not stirred. It has been announced that our boy James will be asking for a Heineken in the latest Bond flick called Skyfall, which will be in theaters November 9, 2012. Take that as you will. Personally, I believe it is a little whorish selling out our favorite British secret agent like that. And this is coming from a guy that has never thought the whole idea of "selling out" is a bad thing. I mean, money is money and that's what people are trying to make. However, changing certain habits and/or characteristics of a character we've known and loved for so long is a bit lame. And cheap.

I'd like to share the following quote with everyone from Alexis Nasard, the chief commercial officer for Heineken:

“When two great brands like Heineken and James Bond join together, excitement is guaranteed. We are confident our activation plan will ignite the conversation with our consumers and film viewers.”

Spoken like a true salesperson. Leave the beer drinking to our favorites like Homer Simpson, Hank Hill and Al Bundy. Keep James Bond sexy. Martini, shaken not stirred.

  1. you would think they could at least get a gin company to sponsor it. I'd like a martini shaken not stirred with Fancy Brand O'Gin.
